Novell Small Business Suite 6.6
hardware requirements
Hardware requirements vary according to your deployment needs. NetWare Only System equirements
Novell Small Business Suite 6.6 will run on the minimum system requirements listed below. For optimal performance, the computer should meet the recommended requirements. Minimum equirements- A server-class PC with a Pentium II or AMD K7 processor
- 512 MB of AM
- A Super VGA display adapter
- A DOS partition of at least 200 MB and 200 MB available space
- 2 GB of available, unpartitioned disk space outside the DOS partition for volume sys:
- One network board
- A bootable CD drive that supports the El Torito specification
ecommended equirements- A server-class PC with two-way Pentium III 700 MHz or higher processors
- 1 GB of AM
- A VESA-compliant 1.2 or later display adapter
- A DOS partition with 1 GB of available space
Note: To determine the optimal size of a boot partition, add the amount of server memory to the minimum amount of the available disk space. The minimum amount of available space is 200 MB, so a server with 1024 MB AM has an optimal boot partition of 1224 MB (1024 MB + 200 MB = 1224 MB). This size will allow you to do a core dump to the disk drive if required. - 10 GB of available, unpartitioned disk space outside the DOS partition for volume sys:
- One or more network boards
- A bootable CD drive that supports the El Torito specification
- A USB or PS/2 mouse
NetWare and GroupWise ecommended System equirements
For optimal performance, the computer should meet the following recommended requirements for running NetWare and GroupWise® on the same server. - A server-class PC with two-way Pentium III 700 MHz or higher processors
- One or more network boards
- A bootable CD drive that supports the El Torito specification
- A USB or PS/2 mouse
- A VESA-compliant 1.2 or later display adapter
- 1 GB of AM
- A DOS partition with 1 GB of available space
Note: To determine the optimal size of a boot partition, add the amount of server memory to the minimum amount of the available disk space. The minimum amount of available space is 200 MB, so a server with 1024 MB AM has an optimal boot partition of 1224 MB (1024 MB + 200 MB = 1224 MB). This size will allow you to do a core dump to the disk drive if required. - 10 GB of available, unpartitioned disk space outside the DOS partition for volume sys:
- 2 GB of disk space for GroupWise files and the following directories:
The GroupWise and Messenger File Copy requires approximately 959 MB. This component is used by both of the Small Business patterns. The GroupWise Installation creates the following directories and uses the following amounts of disk space:
| Directory or Agent | Space equired (based on 100 users) |
|---|
| Software Distribution directory | 500 MB | | Domain directory | 10 MB | | Post Office directory | 10 MB disk space per user and disk space as needed for library documents | Agents- NetWare (MTA and POA) = 21 MB
- GroupWise Monitor (140 MB), GroupWise Web Access (215 MB), shared (110 MB) = 244
- GroupWise Internet Agent (GWIA) =37 MB
- Messenger Agents for NetWare = 8 MB
| 300 MB | | Total | 1810 MB |
NetWare and BorderManager ecommended System equirements
For optimal performance, the computer should meet the following recommended requirements for running NetWare and BorderManager® on the same server.
To determine the optimal size of a boot partition, add the amount of server memory to the minimum amount of the available disk space. The minimum amount of available space is 250 MB, so a server with 1024 MB AM has an optimal boot partition of 1274 MB (1024 MB + 250 MB = 1274 MB). This size will allow you to do a core dump to the disk drive if required. - 10 GB of available, unpartitioned disk space outside the DOS partition for volume sys:
- Minimum 2 GB dedicated CACHE volume if you are installing Proxy Caching. The volume must be a traditional volume.
NetWare and ZENworks for Desktops ecommended System equirements
For optimal performance, the computer should meet the following recommended requirements for running NetWare and ZENworks® for Desktops on the same server.
- 290 MB of free space for ZENworks (50 MB for inventory with database or 35 MB for inventory alone
NetWare, GroupWise, BorderManager and ZENworks ecommended System equirements
